Deborah is a Massachusetts native, having grown up near Cape Cod, and graduating from Bourne High School in 1972. She then attended Cape Cod Community College, graduating in 1974 with an associates degree in Liberal Arts. She then transferred to Worcester State College, graduating in 1976 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Library Science and Media.

Deborah moved to Maine in 1978, living in the Camden/Rockport/Rockland area until 1990, when she moved to Belfast to be with her 2 daughters.

The family moved to Bangor in 1999, where they have resided ever since. In addition to being a Notary Public, Deborah is the founder and principal crafter of Kitty Couch Crafters as a hobby.
